Signing into a service that provides a subscription, like your Claude Max, ChatGPT Pro, or Google AI Ultra subscriptions, generates two kinds of special tokens that apps like Piebald use to remember you and keep you signed in: an access token and a refresh token.
The access token allows apps to access protected resources, like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google APIs, using your account. Access tokens expire quickly, though, so the refresh token allows apps to generate new access tokens when old ones expire.
When you sign in with your subscription in Piebald, the access token and refresh token are stored and used in future requests to the provider. There are cases, though, when you might need to manually edit these tokens, so every provider that uses access and refresh tokens in Piebald allows you to do this:
